The lack of community awareness in separating organic, inorganic, and hazardous waste has resulted in suboptimal household waste management practices. This community service program aims to improve residents’ understanding and skills in waste separation and processing through socialization and training activities. The methods applied consisted of a questionnaire survey with 66 respondents, field observations, group discussions, and hands-on composting practice as part of a participatory approach. The results indicate an increase in community awareness, demonstrated by the provision of separate bins for organic and inorganic waste, better understanding of plastic recycling codes, and the ability to produce quality compost characterized by loose texture, dark color, and earthy aroma. The program’s sustainability is reflected in the community’s commitment to consistently apply environmentally friendly practices, potentially creating a multiplier effect in household-based waste management. Thus, this program can serve as a model of community empowerment in supporting environmental cleanliness and the achievement of local SDGs
2025-12-30T00:00:00+00:00##submission.copyrightStatement##http://conference.unri.ac.id/index.php/unricsce/article/view/622Pelatihan Pembuatan Peraturan Desa Melalui Kukerta MBKM Desa Muara Takus2026-01-30T14:41:43+00:00Sukamariko Andrikasmisukamarriko@lecturer.unri.ac.idYumaiman Nduruyumaiman123@gmail.comTiara Wulan Saritiarawulan123@gmail.comAisyah Wahyu Sukmaaisyahwahyu123@gmail.comPaulina Simanjuntakpaulina123@gmail.comAkrima Laujaakrimalau123@gmail.comRifa C. Village regulations play a strategic role in governing various aspects of village administration, including governance management, development, community empowerment, and local potential management. However, many village officials still face difficulties in formulating Perdes in accordance with legal principles due to limited understanding of both the substance and the technical drafting of regulatory texts. Using a participatory approach, this training activity was carried out through legal counseling methods, interactive discussions, Perdes draft simulations, and guidance in formulating relevant content based on the needs of the Muara Takus community, such as natural resource management, environmental conservation, and strengthening village institutions. The activity involved 20 village officials and 11 student facilitators, with results showing an 85% increase in understanding of the legal basis, drafting procedures, and mechanisms for establishing Perdes based on pre- and post-training evaluations. Additionally, the activity produced two Perdes drafts focused on new residents who must report and parking retribution at the Muara Takus Village market. This Kukerta MBKM program not only serves as a means for students to contribute to the community but also provides a tangible contribution to strengthening village governance, increasing community participation, and promoting independence, democracy, and justice at the village level.
2025-12-30T00:00:00+00:00##submission.copyrightStatement##http://conference.unri.ac.id/index.php/unricsce/article/view/623Pemberdayaan Masyarakat Desa Melalui Sosialisasi Aquaponik Guna Mendukung Ketahanan Pangan Di Desa Bukit Kratai Kecamatan Rumbio Jaya Kabupaten Kampar2026-01-30T14:46:10+00:00Alpata Hillaal.pata0652@sutudent.unri.ac.idLedy Dianaledydiana123@gmail.comAulia Fadhilahauliafad123@gmail.comBintang Suryabintang123@gmail.comDaniella Sri Rani Purbadaniella123@gmail.comDimas Ariasandidimasaria123@gmail.comFaira Aisyahfairaais123@gmail.comJhon Pinter Agustinus Bulolojhonpinter123@gmail.comNadia Aftanadiaaf123@gmail.comPutri Tasyaputritas123@gmail.comRika Putri Patriciarikaput123@gmail.comRyan Hidayatryanhid123@gmail.com
Community service activities carried out in Bukit Kratai Village, Kampar Regency, aim to increase community knowledge and skills in utilizing the aquaponics system as an effort to support family food security. As centers of science and technology creation, universities have a mandate to develop agricultural practices that are environmentally friendly, resource-efficient and adaptive to climate change. This research explores the role of universities in designing and disseminating innovations that strengthen food security at the national level. The method used is literature analysis and qualitative description of the best examples from various universities across Indonesia. The findings show that universities' contributions stand on three main pillars: research, education and community service. Among the innovations produced are precision agriculture technologies, integrated farming systems, and community-based farmer empowerment models. Nonetheless, a number of challenges, especially the lack of collaboration between sectors and the slow adoption of technology among farmers, hinder the expansion of impact. Therefore, strengthening the synergy between universities, government and industry is key to accelerating the implementation of sustainable agriculture that supports food security across the country.
2025-12-30T00:00:00+00:00##submission.copyrightStatement##http://conference.unri.ac.id/index.php/unricsce/article/view/625Pemberdayaan Ekonomi Masyarakat Melalui Penerapan Teknologi Bioflok pada Budidaya Lele di Desa Tasik Seminai, Kabupaten Siak2026-01-30T14:48:23+00:00Bintal Aminbintal.amin@lecturer.unri.ac.idEfriyeldi Efriyeldiefriyeldi123@gmail.comLie Othmanlieoth12@gmail.comZulkifli Zulkiflizulkifli12@gmail.comClara Yolandikaclarayol123@gmail.comPutri Rahayunigtyasputriraha123@gmail.comIrvina Nurachmiirvinanur123@gmail.comHazmi Ariefhazmiar123@gmail.comUlfa Rizki Pradiniulfarizki123@gmaio.com
The community empowerment program utilizing biofloc technology in catfish farming was implemented in Tasik Seminai Village, Siak Regency, with the Pokdakan Tasik Makmur group as the primary partner. Literacy is a person's ability to use potential and skills to process and understand information when engaging in reading and writing activities (Ekowati et al., 2019). Through literacy skills, a person not only gains knowledge but can also use their knowledge and experience as capital for the future. The program was implemented at UPT SDN 005 Binuang Village from Monday, July 14, 2025, to Saturday, July 17, 2025. The objective was to improve the literacy of students at UPT SDN 005 Binuang Village through the Literacy Program. The method used involved designing the entire program. Activities began with read-aloud sessions and "Read Me A Book" for grade 1 and 2 students. Meanwhile, grade 3 and 4 students reviewed book content that had been read to them and participated in interactive quizzes. Grade 5 students expressed their understanding of book content through drawing activities, while grade 6 students were assigned to rewrite stories by connecting them to their personal experiences, and the program concluded with a literacy competition. The coloring competition was intended for lower grade students (grades 1-3), while the "Ranking 1" competition was participated by upper grade students (grades 4-6), with materials covering general knowledge, religious education, and culture. The results obtained showed that the program could significantly increase students' reading interest across all grade levels, develop fundamental literacy skills and comprehension appropriate to students' developmental stages, and create a positive and enjoyable learning environment. This success demonstrates that investment in quality literacy programs not only provides direct benefits to students' academic abilities but also contributes to the development of character, creativity, and thinking skills that will benefit them.
2025-12-30T00:00:00+00:00##submission.copyrightStatement##http://conference.unri.ac.id/index.php/unricsce/article/view/641Inovasi Program Sosialisasi Anti-Bullying dan Pencegahan Kekerasan Seksual oleh Kelompok Kukerta Desa Sipungguk sebagai Upaya Mewujudkan Tujuan Pembangunan Berkelanjutan (SDGs)2026-01-31T02:43:44+00:00Farhan Rizki Vermanafarhan.rizki4085@student.unri.ac.idSeparen Separenseparen12@gmail.comRaja Siti Jalilah Nafisahrajanafisah12@gmail.comNaila Nafisa Zulfikarnaila123@gmail.comNazwa Syaidininazwa123@gmail.comHayat Yulandahayatyul123@gmail.comFaiqah Kaniafaiqah123@gmail.comDimas Maulana Rasyididimasmr12@gmail.comMhd Aidil Ichwanmhdaidil12@gmail.comNabila Rinaldinabilar12@gmail.comFazl Mawla Dinifazl123@gmail.com
The anti-bullying and sexual violence prevention program carried out by community service students (Kukerta) in Sipungguk Village aims to increase community and student literacy on violence issues while supporting the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Dumai's coastal location puts it at risk of disasters such as tidal flooding. Tidal flooding is a phenomenon caused by sea tides exceeding normal levels, resulting in flooding. This disaster can be very detrimental because it causes infrastructure damage and can even lead to loss of life. Furthermore, this disaster can also significantly impact the health of coastal communities. One cause is dirty floodwater mixed with waste, which can have negative health effects, especially on skin health due to direct contact with polluted water. Some examples of problems that arise include itching, irritation, bacterial or fungal infections, and other skin diseases. Various efforts can be made to prevent this incident. One effort that can be done is to prevent tidal flooding by planting mangroves and educating coastal communities about various skin problems that arise from tidal flooding. Planting mangroves is one form of prevention against seawater overflowing onto land. Mangrove ecosystems are forests that grow in coastal areas with brackish or salty water. Mangroves have strong roots that extend into the mud, providing a remarkable natural defense against tidal flooding and coastal erosion. Therefore, actions such as planting mangrove seedlings in areas adjacent to the sea can be taken as a form of environmental awareness and to anticipate tidal flooding. Based on these issues, a community service activity was carried out, namely planting 12 mangrove seedlings as a form of effort to prevent skin diseases and tidal flooding.
2025-12-30T00:00:00+00:00##submission.copyrightStatement##http://conference.unri.ac.id/index.php/unricsce/article/view/643Sinergi Multidisipliner melalui KKN MBKM Desa Tanjung Rambutan: Pemberdayaan Desa, Pendidikan Inklusif, dan Tujuan Pembangunan Berkelanjutan2026-01-31T03:17:35+00:00Fernandes Simamorafernandes.simamora4469@student.unri.ac.idLedy Dianaledydiana123@gmail.comBeta Floren Hutabaratbeta123@gmail.comMuhammad Hafas Rivaldimhafas123@gmail.comFikra Ardiansyahfikra123@gmail.comMichelle Cantika Jamalis Putrimichelle12@gmail.comKhoirunnisa Nurul Izzatikhoirunnisa12@gmail.comSyahzia Haiqa Rahmansyahzia123@gmail.comMeri Merimeri123@gmail.comAdinda Fareyziadinda123@gmail.comIntan Habibah Tinaraintan123@gmail.com
Quality, safe, and inclusive education is a fundamental prerequisite for achieving sustainable development. However, pressures from plantation expansion, land conversion, and limited community knowledge about forest functions have made this area vulnerable to degradation. This community service activity aimed to enhance public knowledge of the importance of forests. The method employed was socialization through an educational, participatory, and interactive approach combined with small group discussions. The respondents in this activity were stakeholders involved in community deliberations with the Siak Pelalawan Landscape Program in the context of forming a collective commitment to maintain forest functions and areas. The results of this activity showed an increase in community knowledge about forest functions as measured by several aspects, namely forest definition, forest types, and forest functions. Community understanding of the definition of forests increased by 39%, knowledge of forest types around Kuala Tolam Village increased by 36%, and knowledge of forest functions increased by 30%. These findings indicate that the socialization and educational approaches applied were successful in raising public awareness of the importance of forests in supporting the community’s commitment to preserving forest functions and areas. Furthermore, the formation of such commitment, supported by enhanced knowledge and understanding, is expected to serve as a strong foundation for establishing a forest patrol and monitoring team in Kuala Tolam Village, Pelalawan Regency.
2025-12-30T00:00:00+00:00##submission.copyrightStatement##http://conference.unri.ac.id/index.php/unricsce/article/view/654Pemberdayaan Umkm Desa Melalui Pelatihan Legalitas Usaha Dan Desain Branding Di Desa Merangin Kabupaten Kampar2026-01-31T05:11:25+00:00Ilham RadhifaIlham.radhifa3599@student.unri.ac.idRinda Elni Septaririnda123@gmail.comVerdhitia Ikhsan Pratamaverdhitia123@gmail.comAulia Rahmaauliarahma123@gmail.comAfifah Cahyaniafifahcahya123@gmail.comRisni Ramadhanirisni123@gmail.comRevaliza Syahindarevaliza123@gmail.comMhd Farhanmhdfarhan123@gmail.comIkbal Ardiansyah Purbaikbal123@gmail.comEncik Rania Oliviaencikrania123@gmail.comNadhila Irawannadhila123@gmail.comRiska Febriandariska12@gmail.comEgi Chandraegichandra12@gmail.comNurmaizar Nurmaizarnurmaizar123@gmail.comBastian Felix Hutagaolbastian123@gmail.comNadia Asti Nurmayzananadyaasti123@gmail.comFrini Karina Andinifrini.karina@lecturer.unri.ac.id
Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in villages have great potential to support the local economy, but they still face various challenges, such as the lack of business legality and weak product branding. In Merangin Village, Kampar Regency, most MSME actors run their businesses informally without a Business Identification Number (NIB), have unsystematic financial records, and use unattractive product packaging. This activity aims to strengthen the capacity of MSMEs through intensive training and mentoring that covers business legality, basic management, and branding design. The methods used include theoretical material delivery, practical simulations, and collaboration between lecturers and Kukerta students in providing personal assistance to participants. The results show that participants were able to understand and register for NIBs through the OSS platform, prepare a Business Model Canvas (BMC), calculate the cost of production (HPP), and conduct simple financial recording. In addition, participants also succeeded in designing product logos and packaging that are more appealing by utilizing online design applications. This activity proves that a collaborative and practical approach is highly effective in improving the knowledge and skills of village MSMEs, enabling them to be better prepared to compete in broader markets and operate with formal legality.
2025-12-30T00:00:00+00:00##submission.copyrightStatement##http://conference.unri.ac.id/index.php/unricsce/article/view/655Penguatan Kapasitas UMKM Perikanan melalui Teknologi Bioflok dan Pemijahan Semi-Alami: Studi Desa Binaan Universitas Riau di Pekanbaru2026-01-31T05:22:24+00:00Indra Lesmanaindra.lesmana@lecturer.unri.ac.idAndo Fahda Auliaando123@gmail.comDesi Rahmadani Siagiandesirahmadani@lecturer.unri.ac.idMidawita Misdawitamisdawita123@gmail.comRodi Firmansyahrodi123@gmail.comAde Yulindraade123@gmail.com
Aquaculture-based micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) often struggle with limited technology, weak management, and high production costs. This program aimed to strengthen the capacity of aquaculture MSMEs through the application of biofloc technology and semi-natural spawning techniques in catfish culture. The 2025 UNRI KUKERTA Program serves as a platform for students to learn and contribute simultaneously, absorbing real-world societal issues, and applying knowledge through tangible community empowerment to generate programs that are feasible, acceptable, participatory, and sustainable. Batu Belah Village, Kampar District, Kampar Regency, possesses MSMEs (Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises) with significant potential for development, yet their operations remain largely confined to conventional cash-based transactions. Low digital literacy, limited understanding of legal regulations, and inadequate supporting facilities hinder the adoption of QRIS-based digital payment systems. Through the KKN program, students implemented a participatory and educational approach encompassing socialization, technical training, direct mentoring, and monitoring and evaluation to enhance MSMEs' practical understanding and capability in utilizing QRIS. As a result, MSME actors in Batu Belah Village successfully created QRIS accounts independently, understood digital transaction mechanisms, and began integrating non-cash payments into their business operations. This condition is most evident in rural areas, where legal literacy among the community is still low and the utilization of Legal Aid Institutions (LBH) has not been optimal. Through the 2025 MBKM Community Service Program (KUKERTA) of Universitas Riau, a legal education initiative was conducted in Bukit Melintang Village to enhance public understanding of the criminal justice system and the role of LBH in providing legal assistance. The activity employed a participatory approach through lectures, interactive discussions, case simulations, and the creation of legal educational media. Based on a survey involving 40 participants, the community’s understanding of the criminal justice system increased from 25% before the activity (pre-test) to 85% after the activity (post-test). Knowledge regarding the role of LBH rose from 30% to 90%, and the willingness of the community to access legal services increased from 40% to 75%. These improvements were measured through pre-test and post-test surveys as well as evaluative interviews with participants and village officials. Community enthusiasm was reflected in their active participation during discussions and their encouragement for the program to be continued. The activity also resulted in a recommendation to establish a Village Legal Consultation Post in Bukit Melintang as a sustainable follow-up effort. However, many village management units still face significant limitations in human resources and digital skills. This community service program was designed to address these challenges in Tourism Village of Sungai Petai through the application of a triple helix collaboration model, which synergizes the roles of academics, local government, and tourism business actors. Within this framework, academics contributed expertise and mentorship, the village government provided policy and logistical support, while local businesses shared practical knowledge relevant to digital promotion and entrepreneurship. The program employed a problem-based learning approach, encouraging participants to identify real issues, formulate strategies, and produce digital content that reflects the village’s cultural and environmental uniqueness. Training materials covered the principles of integrated tourism marketing—encompassing destination image, halal tourism, and sustainability—as well as techniques for visual content creation and social media management. The evaluation design incorporated both pre-test and post-test assessments to measure the participants’ knowledge gains. The findings indicate a measurable improvement, with the average pre-test score of 51.3 increasing to 80.3 after the training, reflecting a 56.6% growth in participants’ digital marketing competence. This significant increase demonstrates that the triple helix model effectively enhances local capacity in managing digital promotion and strengthens the foundation for sustainable village tourism development. In conclusion, the program not only improved participants’ technical understanding of digital marketing but also fostered a collaborative mindset essential for sustaining innovation at the community level. The outcomes affirm that the triple helix approach can serve as a replicable model for empowering rural communities toward inclusive and sustainable digital tourism transformation.
2025-12-30T00:00:00+00:00##submission.copyrightStatement##http://conference.unri.ac.id/index.php/unricsce/article/view/689Strategi Literasi Inklusif Mahasiswa Kukerta Tematik Universitas Riau Kelurahan Tembilahan Hulu : Lapak Literasi Dan Permainan Edukatif di Car Free Day2026-02-01T03:48:50+00:00Chairul Chairulchairul@lecturer.unri.ac.idAfriansyah Afriansyahafriansyah12@gmail.comBilqis Armadini Humairahbilqis123@gmail.comFeblin Isma Anjelikafeblin123@gmail.comKamilyandri Kamilyandrikamilyandri123@gmail.comM. Data from the National Waste Management Information System (2024) show that households contribute 50.8% of the national waste generation. In Simpang Baru, used cooking oil is generally discarded without processing, posing risks to the environment and public health. This study aims to enhance community awareness and skills, especially among women, in transforming used cooking oil into value-added products through the Eco Candle innovation. The research employed a qualitative approach through interviews with 72 respondents and field observations, followed by a workshop on Eco Candle production with housewives from RW 06, 07, and 08. Activities included socialization, hands-on practice in making aromatherapy candles, and continued mentoring. Findings reveal that 28 respondents (38.9%) were unaware of waste benefits, while 44 (61.1%) recognized its potential, but only 18 (25%) had experience managing it. Waste management practices were grouped into four categories: active (19.4%), economic (22.2%), passive (26.4%), and non-management (31.9%). The workshop received positive responses, reflected in participants’ independent practices. These findings highlight the gap between knowledge and practice while underscoring women’s role as agents of change.
