Abstract

The initiation of the formation of this waste bank started with the large amount of household waste even though
activities had been carried out to convert organic waste into compost. Inorganic waste also constitutes the largest part of the
volume of household waste and is still a problem in residential environments. Residents throw inorganic waste in inappropriate
places, namely at the intersection of highways and residential roads. This buildup occurs every day, disrupting the cleanliness
and smoothness of the surrounding drainage, because some of the rubbish enters the channel. One solution to this problem is
to establish a waste bank. The way to establish a waste bank is to form a waste bank manager, then a decision letter is issued
by the sub-district head, then the waste bank is inaugurated. Next, practice directly receiving the waste that residents have
chosen to sort. The waste collected at the waste bank is recorded in a savings book so that it becomes worth rupiah. This
method is very effective and attracts residents to continue throwing away waste at waste banks, so that the generation of
inorganic waste at temporary waste disposal sites (TPS) is reduced..
