Abstract

Liquid organic fertilizer (POC) is a type of organic fertilizer that can be made from animal or plant manure that Liquid organic fertilizer (POC) is a type of organic fertilizer made from animal or plant waste which can nourish plant growth. In a situation where chemical fertilizer prices are expensive, using liquid organic fertilizer can be an alternative for farmers. One of the materials that can be used as POC is banana peel because it contains ingredients such as potassium, phosphorus, and others, so it is good for use as organic fertilizer. Therefore, making liquid organic fertilizer made from banana peels is one of the main work programs of the 2023 UNRI KKN team in Sungai Paku Village. The service program was carried out on July 29 2023 with the aim of educating the residents of Sungai Paku Village, especially PKK women and village garden chili farmers, to know how to make POC from banana peel waste. Apart from that, this program is an effort to improve welfare, food security in Sungai Paku Village and a form of community empowerment based on SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals). The socialization was accompanied by a direct demonstration of how to make and apply it. It is hoped that writing this article can provide an overview and explanation of the POC creation socialization program. The result of this program is that people have the knowledge to make and practice the use of POC made from banana peels. The high enthusiasm of the community as socialization participants makes the POC socialization program run smoothly and understandably.
