PENERAPAN PROGRAM CALISTUNG GUNA MENINGKATKAN KEMAMPUAN LITERASI ANAK SD DESA SUNGAI PAKU

Abstract

Calistung is an abbreviation for reading, writing and arithmetic which every child must learn, especially when attending elementary school. Calistung skills are gained instantly, therefore there needs to be innovation in implementing the calistung program. The implementation of the calistung program to improve students' literacy skills at SDN 003 Sungai Paku is based on students from grades 1 to 6 for those who have difficulty in reading, writing and calculating. Therefore, it is very necessary to create new innovations in learning to implement the calistung program (reading, writing and calculating) in order to train and improve students' literacy and numeracy skills. This research aims to describe how calistung is implemented, the obstacles and solutions faced by teachers for students who have difficulty learning to read, write and count. The type of research used is observation, interviews and documentation and data validation is carried out by triangulating sources and techniques. Based on the results of research at SDN 003 Sungai Paku, it was found that teachers provided additional hours in implementing the calistung program after teaching and learning activities carried out from Monday to Thursday at the KUKERTA Bangun Kampung Sungai Paku Village post, University of Riau 2023. The implementation of this calistung program usually uses learning methods contextual/real accompanied by several reading books, letter cards and number cards. Then the teacher/student gives books that students are interested in reading and introduces numbers using basic arithmetic operations.
