PEMANFAATAN LIDI SAWIT DALAM PEMBERDAYAAN PEREMPUAN SUKU AKIT YANG BERNILAI EKONOMI DI KECAMATAN RUPAT KABUPATEN BENGKALIS

Abstract

Palm sticks are one part of the oil palm plant that has promising potential for the community's economy. Because
palm sticks that are managed by cleaning and drying them have export potential. The economic opportunities provided by
using palm sticks for oil palm farmers can basically provide significant and sustainable economic added value for the
community. However, if the management of palm oil sticks is carried out manually by the community, it will of course take
quite a long time and have a slow economic turnover. The discovery of appropriate technological innovation (TTG) in the form
of a palm tree stick sharpening machine, opens up opportunities for people to be able to use palm tree sticks as raw materials
and handmade products with economic value. Because handemade products originating from the use of palm sticks are traded
in online outlets throughout Indonesia. This opportunity can contribute to Suku Akit community in Rupat District, Bengkalis
Regency in adding economic value to their families. So that the use of the oil palm plantations owned can be maximized in
supporting the economy of Suku Akit community to meet the needs of their families. Because the area of oil palm plantations
owned is not that large, some are even owned by other communities so they can be utilized. Therefore, through the
empowerment program in the form of training on the use of palm sticks into handmade products, it is hoped that this will
provide new economic opportunities for Suku Akit community.
